Biography

Monica is a biracial, blasian, afro latina whose directing work features bold color, strong women, and sometimes blood. Her horror short “Black In Red Out” led to her being featured in the documentary “Horror Noire” about the history of black horror, alongside icons like Jordan Peele, Tony Todd and Rachel True. Her digital short form shows on Snapchat and Facebook, music videos and branded beauty campaigns have millions of views online. She treats every gig like her own precious child (clearly she does not have kids) and is always looking for her next opportunity to poor paint all over her subject. Need a director? Monica is currently in post-production for a horror short film she wrote and directed in collaboration with Netflix and the Los Ángeles Latino International Film Festival. The short is titled “La Ciguapa Siempre” about the Dominican myth La Ciguapa. It will premiere at the Los Ángeles Latino International Film Festival in June!
